In her honour I had a small party on the premises of Cafe California. It was Mom's favourite restaurant, and it remains to be mine as well. Not only is the food delicious, but the owners and servers are so friendly and helpful that they are more like family.
My Aunt Joyce and cousin Lesley came for the celebration, as well as my friends: Ainsley, Lenny, and Lucy. We drank toasts in memory of Mom and looked at three photo albums, all of which I had brought from home. (At any age, Mom looked beautiful!)
After dinner, I went outside of the restaurant and sprinkled a few of Mom's ashes into one of the flower boxes. Mom would have loved that! Cafe California and Church St were two of her favourite places in all of the world.
I love you, Mom! The world lost a rare and beautiful gem when you left us.
