Happy birthday, Rob

Happy birthday, Rob Warenda, my sweet, wonderful husband! You would have been been 60 years old.  We would have had  a party with many,  many friends helping to celebrate your big day. The menu would have been Swiss Chalet, Pizza, cake and Crown Royal.

Wherever, sweetheart, I hope you’re whooping it up and having fun… and hanging out with Frank Zappa!

I love you and miss you so much! You will always be the love of my life! ❤️🥳🥂🍕😍🎂🥃🍻

Happy Birthday, Boys!

Happy Birthday, Boys!

I can't believe you're nine years old today. My boys are growing up so fast! In cat years you're a year or two older than I am now.

For nine years, I've loved  you; doted on you; cared for you; and obseessed about you.  No wonder! Besides being cute and cuddly, you're also funny; sweet; and, emotionally supportive.

I loved you as kittens, and now in middle age, and I'll love you forever! You're my boys, my jesters, my comfort providers, and my muses.

I love you two!

Happy Birthday, Michelle!

Today was my niece Michelle's 17th birthday party.  We all met at the Old Spaghetti Factory after I fiinished working at the market.

The year I turned 17 was incredible.  So many doors opened for me, and I was filled  with such hope and optimism.

I hope Michelle has a cool, great, fantastic, and brilliant year!

I love you, Michelle!

And now, I need to go to bed and rest up for my birthday party tomorrow ...

Woo-hoo!

Happy Birthday, Rob Warenda!

I wrote the following on my Facebook page this morning:

Happy birthday, Rob Warenda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I love & miss you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooo incredibly much!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! In your honour, I'm going to watch The IT Crowd, The Andy Griffith Show, listen to Frank Zappa, KIM MITCHELL, ACDC, drink coffee, beer, Scotch, order KFC... and remember all the fun we had. I'm sending you an infinite amount of hugs & kisses & love, Sweety!

Except for drinking beer and Scotch, which I'm about to do now, I've done all of those things.  I've also listened to one of my favourite podcasts of  Rob's:

http://dandynotecards.podomatic.com/playpod/play/2012-07-07T17_22_50-07_00

And, a video tribute to Rob, which a few of my friends made for me:

I didn't have a party for Rob this year; remembering him in this way was enough for me.  And I allotted some time to be by myself to feel sad and cry for awhile. That felt right to me too ...

I love you, Rob!  You will always be the love of my life.

Happy Birthday, Bruce

The day at the market started out sweetly ... if you pardon the pun!

Some kind person gave me five mini KitKat bars.  YAY!  Way better than gifts of bread!

Although, getting more "dough" would have been nice ....

Unfortunately, no matter how wonderful my artwork and merchandise appeared - and many people did complement me on my talent ... !

... and, no matter how friendly and charming I tried to be, I still only made $25.00 today.

However, I had a great time with Bruce and the kids at the Spaghetti Factory.

It's Bruce's birthday tomorrow, Groundhog Day.  (I've always joked with Bruce about this fact.)  And, we decided to get together to celebrate his 59 years.

It was wonderful seeing them, as it always is.  I think everybody enjoyed themselves, too, and I think Bruce liked his present from me:  season one of American Horror Story and two lottery tickets.

Happy Birthday, Bruce!  Let me know if you see your shadow tomorrow or not ....

Happy Birthday, Mom

Today was my mother's birthday.  She would have been 88.

In her honour I had a small party on the premises of Cafe California.  It was Mom's favourite restaurant, and it remains to be mine as well.  Not only is the food delicious, but the owners and servers are so friendly and helpful that they are more like family.

My Aunt Joyce and cousin Lesley came for the celebration, as well as my friends: Ainsley, Lenny, and Lucy.  We drank toasts in memory of Mom and looked at three photo albums, all of which I had brought from home.  (At any age, Mom looked beautiful!)

After dinner, I went outside of the restaurant and sprinkled a few of Mom's ashes into one of the flower boxes.  Mom would have loved that! Cafe California and Church St were two of her favourite places in all of the world.

I love you, Mom! The world lost a rare and beautiful gem when you left us.

Happy Birthday, Sweety

Today would have been Rob's 50th birthday.  So, to honour him, I had a party in his name and invited all of our friends.

I bought all of Rob's favourite foods:  KFC, pizza, chocolate cupcakes, scotch, and beer.

I played all of Rob's favourite music too on YouTube: Zappa (of course), Kim Mitchell, Max Webster, Rush, Chilliwack, Queen, The Tubes, Amanda Marshal, etc.

At the end of the night, I put my favourite video, dedicated to my sweet Rob.  Here`s the link to it:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hozrwg8qi8s

Rob, there are no words in any language that can convey just how much I love and miss you!!!  You were and always will be the love of my life ....
